This male friend of mine, along with one of his male friend, my girl Grace and I had this heated debate about relationships between Caribbean girls and American guys, vice versa. One of the guys stated that Caribbean girls
o are anti-social in his opinion, that they wouldn’t give American guys the time of day,
o refuse to dance with American guys at parties, just Caribbean guys
o look down on African girls on campus
o Would NEVER date an African guy
He further went on to state that Caribbean guys are very defensive when it comes to Caribbean girls dating anyone besides Caribbean guys.
Speaking from an honest and neutral standpoint, Caribbean girls are somewhat turned off by the typical American’s guy approach (hey you come here). Caribbean or not, women love to be treated with respect and I just don’t think that this line or any line similar to that will cut it…..I don’t even know how it works sometimes, oh well, we’re all different.
Okay, I’ve witnessed this first hand………..they really do turn down the guys when they ask to dance cause half of the time (okay am being modest), ninety five percent of the time, the guy just seems unable to dance so the girl just refuses to give him the time of day…listen here girls, the guys are really impressed, maybe you should teach them a thing or two.
The part about looking down on African girls on campus, yes sadly,(sigh). I won’t delve into this one but I have seen ridiculing taking place….
Lastly, I don’t care if you’re Caribbean,American,Russian,Nepalese,African, love is love and it comes in all colours…………who you fall in love with is inevitable……4 out of 5 Caribbean girls that I asked if they would date an African guy said yes. I think that many of us have this misconstrued perception about African people.
As for the last issue about Caribbean guys being overprotective, I’ve never experienced such, any takers????
Who vex lose, furthermore you're only gonna hurt your muscles, so smile :)

well what can i say? hmmmmm. i believe that we caribbean gurls rarely give American guys a dance. But we have our reasons (well these are my reasons- ladies speak for yallselves uh):
1. these guys cannot dance like the typical caribbean guys who will wine n do all stunts.
2. like u said teffo they dont approach us in a respectful manner and this simply allows us to turn them down.these guys need some Discipline301 with teffo and I to straighten them up.
although if we give them a chance and teach them how to move-- that might help them give a good grind. but i really dont know!!
i have plenty american friends and know that thay are kool. i believe we need to get to know these guys to really understand wats going on with them :D like i've done. hehe.:D
about the african guys thingee... well if given a chance to date an african guy i would surely do.:D lol. they are very respectful, kind, loving and i believe i could relate to them more- having my roots from africa.lol
teffo i go support u on the part where u say we look down a little on african gurls....because i have to confess i've been down that road where i've laughed at some of them /lol with u teffo.lmao.hehe.(GREEN MANGO)LMAO!!
n e hoo obviously if caribbean guys see caribbean gurls in trouble they will look out for us- but the overprotective part i have not witnessed it. and yes the majority of the caribbean gurls date carribean guys. ask them y?i cannot answer for them. but leave it up to me i would date n e one who treats me as i want them to.whether American. African, Nepalise, Caribbean, Mexican, And so on.
i believe this topic is very interesting and ladies yall should give yall views on it!!
Its all about style.. hmmm or dare i say swagger...them American boys doe dress fly enough...lol. but seriously...first impressions are important what u wearing, who u with, how u acting, how u dancing.. i no u no that u cah go out in some public fingy with no sketel shoe and not get laughed... or have the most awkward dance and not get laughed at...and which c'bean girl will want to be with the dude being laughed at.. hmm... and probably they dont make the girls blush enuff.. make them feel gd. too many lame lines.lol.. oo well.. but there are a few who would want to know ppl for who they really are and wont judge.. but generally i think its all about presence..but mind u c'bean ppl judmental..
totally agree wit you... being here for yrs now... i can admit that American guys have a terrible approach towards women... as far as dating... well i personally wudnt date someone if they are not of caribbean culture... cause they tend to ave different values than I and there isn't a sense of familiarity/simarilty with the individual, hence makes it very awkard and futhermore- too many questions (dumb ones too).
But this was an excellent post teffo...
